How can I fix Apple TV login issue after changing my password?

I had to change my Apple password. Now I can’t log into my Apple TV. I can enter the user id, the password and submit the verification code and it kicks me right back to enter Apple ID. It is driving me crazy. It is either a 2nd or 3rd generation. Thanks
