Apple TV fails to recognize user ID and or password - but they are valid, How do you resolve this issie?

The issue is entirely random. sometimes the login is automatic and there is no issue and other times you get all the way thru to your library to watch something and then the Apple TV says the user ID and/or password is incorrect .. There has to be a programming error caused from an "Update" as this issue has not been a problem before.

There hasn’t been an update for this model in 2 years, and that (v7.9) was its final version. This issue is not caused by an update on your device.

Apple TV says the user ID and/or password is incorrect

If you have an Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation) and two-factor authentication for your Apple ID, then you may be asked to type your password followed by the six-digit verification code directly into the password field. Additionally, there is a time limit, after which the code becomes invalid.

Try this: First enter the characters of your password (do not submit yet), then manually request a new verification code, then append that code to the password (no spaces or other separating characters), and then submit. That should help you get passed the time limit.
