Unable to log into my Apple TV (2nd generation)

I'm having a problem logging into my old (2nd gen), I had to set-up a new Apple account so I have a new user name and password, I have done a factory reset to clear the old user details.

But when I try to log-in with my new user name and password it doesn't recognise them, even though I can log-in to my Apple account on my PC with the new user name and password.

Any help would be appreciated.

The 2nd gen isn't designed to work with 2 factor authentication. As a workaround you need to enter the password, then manually request a code and add it to the end of the password.

Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication - Apple Support (CA)

However, it is worth noting that the model is classified as obsolete and most providers have dropped support for the server based channels that ran on it. Current apple services (i.e. Apple Music, Apple TV app, Photos, iCloud etc) are also not supported. Lastly, it will be more prone to issues, due to its age (it was originally released in 2010).

Even if you found a used 4th gen it would be a better option, that was the first model that introduced the TVOS platform and it is still receiving updates/support (as well as an App Store with regular updates from developers).
