my phone is powered up but will not swipe up

It does not respond to any swipes. I turned it off. (Slide to Power Off)

After an hour or so, I turned it back on. It powers up, but all attempts to swipe up to open the phone fail. I cannot even turn it back off since I can't swipe across the Swipe to Power Off slider. I can't tap cancel to exit the screen either.

And even though my phone is connected to my MacBook Pro, it does not show up in Locations on the sidebar.

I'm at a loss. It's an iPhone 13 Pro.

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 17

To regain your device touch recognition, you must force restart your iPhone 13 Pro. Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Next, press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Finally, press and hold the Side (Power) button until you see the Apple logo. If this doesn't work, try putting your iPhone into DFU (Device Firmware Update) mode and restore it using Finder. However, be aware that this erases all data on your device, so proceed with caution.
