Problems with mac mini and satechi stand & hub

Shortly after booting up my Mac mini, I frequently get the message that I have deleted my disks incorrectly. Sometimes it does show them right back up, or sometimes only a few disks attached to the Satechi stand & hub.

The operating system is up to date macOS Sonoma 14.5

Disk Utility doesn't show any notifications or anything.

The macmini's ports are completely fine.

An apple expert indicates that the hardware is fine and something must be wrong software-wise.

The shutter time is set that when my monitor goes into shutter time that the peripherals stay on.

Does anyone have another idea, how to solve this problem?

Troubleshooting Lagging Mac Boot:

A. Try Safe Mode:

In Safe Mode, login items do not run, and corrupt system files(i.e. caches) are intentionally reset as a way to fix issues

  1. Boot: in to Safe Mode: [Hold Down: shift key upon boot].
  2. Log in: as same user
  3. Wait: 30 seconds
  4. Restart; your Mac
  5. Log in: as same user

B. See if your Hard drive is Failing:

What to Try:

  1. Boot: into Recovery ModeGo Here:  How to Use Safe Mode on your Mac- Apple Support
  2. Select: Disk Utility
  3. Select: the Drive
  4. Click: First Aid button

C. Single-Out this User:

Try a pre Administrator user, seeing if you do not get this occur while in it. If so, then it is an issue with the configuration of the current user. If not, then it is an issue with the entire Mac, in which case you should reinstall the macOS. See below...

This appears to be a common problem with all USB hubs both on Windows and Mac machines.

Take a look at the reviews and you will see what I mean.

I have never had one of those Mac-mini dedicated hubs but have several cheap (£10) ones which have always ejected themselves from time to time . . . some quite regularly.

I used to put it down to them being cheap but as time went by I realised that all of them, regardless of price have that tendency.

It occurs whether I have plugged in an HDD, SSD or memory stick. I have 3 different computers but they all do it.

What external drives are connected to the Satechi hub..?

This sounds more like a power issue with the Satechi hub than a software issue.

I would test the setup with one less external drive plugged to the Satechi hub.

Or.. move one external drive from the Satechi hub and plug it directly to a port on the back of the Mac mini.
