How can I stop receiving Apple News notifications?

On an iPad or an iPhone, tap Settings > Notifications. Scroll down the list of apps to find News. Tap it and, in the resulting window, turn off Allow Notifications:

To remove the icon from your device, find the News icon, press and hold it to get this:

Ue the Remove App option.

I'm no fan of all of this push nonsense, either. If I want to know what's going on, I'll look when I'm ready.

In the News app on your Mac, choose File > Manage Notifications & Email. Turn notifications on or off for a channel, then click Done.

Don't have my iPad or iPhone next to me at the moment to look up how to stop it there.

What problem are you having deleting the app like you would any other app on your device?
