iphone battery died in Italy

My daughter is currently doing a summer abroad in Florence and her battery all of the sudden died. It’s 1yr old and was fine before leaving. Apple there says $1100 to replace battery which we can’t afford. What are our options to deal with this in Italy?

Well, it cost about $100 (U.S.) to replace the battery, so you would expect the cost to be roughly about the same in Italy in Euros, since the exchange rate is close between Euros and dollars.

110 Euros sounds about right for the battery in Italy.....not 1100 Euros.

This is a guess, but it sounds like the shop was quoting the price for a new phone......not a replacement battery.

Check with the Apple Store in Florence to confirm.
