Sharing only user cannot connect via smb.

I have a MacBook server running Monterey, and I can connect to it via SMB on my windows machine. I recently made a new "sharing only" user on the server, but trying to use that user account to connect through windows just doesn't work. The user has permission to access the folders it needs to and the windows file sharing setting is on, but despite that, only the administrator account will connect properly. the attached image shows the error message when attempting to access the server.
