Why is my OTG Usb-C not working on my Macbook Air?

I have an USB-C OTG for my Macbook Air M1 since it doesn't have a generic USB-A connector.

I know my otg works, since it charges my phone when I plug the charger into the OTG, and connect my phone on the other end.

My mouse doesn't work on my OTG, Even though I can see a red light from the bottom, and my OTG has an LED which shows if something is connected.

Is there something that I did, like a setting in preferences, which stops my OTG from connecting to my Macbook?
