The last and final update for the iPhone 6 was iOS 12.5.7.
There will be no more updates for the iPhone 6.
If you want to run IOS 16, you need to have an iPhone 8. But, it would be much better to have an iPhone that can run iOS 17 and iOS 18. That would be an iPhone XR or higher model.
