Logic Pro 11 freezing on playback with audio dropouts and glitching - orange mic symbol blinking
Hello everybody,
I am currently having an issue in where I can't use Logic Pro 11.0.1 at all..
Lately I am having the problem where Logic freezes on playback in a mix project. The orange mic symbol in the top bar starts blinking like crazy and Logic tries to playback but only glitched sounds come out and playback doesn't start again. I then can't do anything, just restart Logic and my project, play from the beginning and it plays fine, when I stop once and playback from a random position in the project the orange mic symbol starts blinking again and Logic is not able to continue playing the project, just glitches and audio dropouts and the position meter resetting over and over.
The most annoying issue I have ever had in Logic, I can't continue mixing my clients work.
- The orange Microphone symbol in the topbar is set to "Standard" in Logic Pro
- I have tried disabling Logic Pro in Security & Privacy > Microphone but then my outboard gear doesn't work anymore, my gear is connected via an external converter to my soundcard (RME Fireface UFX)
- I have tried all different buffer sizes and process buffer ranges
- Everything is up to date and no other programs are running when I'm working in Logic
I have made a short video of this problem, this can be watched here.
My setup:
Mac Studio M1 Ultra - 64GB
macOS Sonoma 14.5
Logic Pro 11.0.1
RME Fireface UFX
Does anyone have a clue in what causes this problem and any idea how I can fix this?? I hit a dead end and can't find a solution to solve this problem.
Hope anybody can help!
With kind regards,
Morris
