"Apple cash requires the same Apple ID..." I have complied and still doesn’t work.
Can be fixed by deleting the thread of the person you are sending to. It’s possible it’s recognizing an old apple ID associated with the iMessage thread. Once deleted, it has to be permanently deleted from the device and then it should let you start a fresh thread and let you make the apple payment. I tried this and it worked for me.
