I noted your earlier discussion; although the instructions for turning off repeat in Apple Music be the same as iTunes, perhaps there is some possibility for confusion. So let's concentrate on iTunes since that's what you've mentioned, rather than Apple Music.

If the following tips do not solve your issue, post back with detail about which specific step you were attempting and what actually happened when you tried it. A screenshot might help.

Turning off Repeat in "controls" should be simple:

  • using the screenshot below as your guide, on iTunes top bar menu, select Controls / Repeat / Off

That's all there is to it.

If that menu option already has "Off" selected, then Repeat is already off. Note the following:

    • Repeat / All will cause the current playlist to be played again once every song in the list has been played (the "playlist" I'm referring to is any list of songs to be played, not simply one of the created "playlists")
    • Repeat / One will cause the current song to be repeated until you stop the player or turn off the Repeat / One function

In addition, and as an alternative:

The Now Playing window will show the current status of the Repeat function on its right hand side. You can change the repeat function by tapping that icon, but be aware that it steps through repeat function as follows:

    • Repeat off - (each song plays once and then the player will stop)
    • Repeat on - (each song plays once and the the list is repeated in the same order)
    • Repeat 1 - (the current song will repeat until you either stop the Repeat 1 function, manually step to another songs or stop the player)
    • Repeat off

and the icon changes accordingly:

tap the icon once and it changes to Repeat....

tap the icon once and it changes to Repeat 1....

tap the icon once and Repeat is turned off
