Italics is not working in Pages with the font Arima Koshi

as is my usual method for many years

i create a text in a Microsoft Word .docx document and then open it in Pages

on this occasion i partially used the Font: Arima Koshi

in Word i had italicized f in the word if ...

when i open the document in Pages it refuses to respect my choice to Italicize the f

in that font

even if i highlight the f and click the italicize button

the other font i am using in the document is Corbel and that italicizes without any problem

is there any way to force Pages to Italicize the font Arima Koshi ?

thankyuuu in advance for any assistance

The actual problem is Word.

One version of Amari Koshi is included with the OS; ExtraBold. There are six other styles that can be downloaded from various sites on the web. None that I found included an italic face.

So this set, and the single included font included with the OS gives you nine that will appear in a font list.

Since there is no italic font, Word is faking italic by applying an attribute. Pages ignores this because there is no real italic font to use.
