Installed Font not appearing in Pages or Numbers

I have correctly installed a font (Hitmo2.0) into my Font Book, but it will not appear in the list of fonts in Pages or Numbers. I can paste formatted text into a Pages or Numbers file (from another file where it does show), and once it appears there it is visible and selectable in the font list as normal. But when I open a new blank document, or one without any pre-existing Hitmo text, once again is does not appear.

I am on an iMac running macOS 14.6.1.

Any advice???

I never install new fonts via Font Book. Have you shut your iMac down, and then booted into Safe Boot mode? That will clear system caches, and rebuild some system databases, including the Font database. Then reboot normally.

I drop new fonts into my /Users/yourname/Library/Fonts folder. This is one of the primary filesystem locations that is searched by the operating system and I have never failed to install a font there and not have it immediately available to Pages with any new or existing document. It must be a font that is compatible with the operating system.

Your version of Sonoma is 1.5 years behind the current Sonoma 14.8.3. Either update that, or if you want newer versions of Pages available to you, then upgrade to macOS Sequoia 15.7.3. Apple is expected to introduce their new Creator Suite today (01/28/2026) and Pages, Numbers, and Keynote will then require macOS Sequoia or later to obtain them from the Mac App Store.
