I have been unable to set up Apple Pay. How can I fix this?

No matter what I do, Apple Pay says it cannot be set up. iCloud and phone are all up to date and I’m signed in to my Apple ID. How can I fix this?

I have tried everything the online help says to do. Still Apple Pay will not set up.

Based on everything i know, it depends on what card you are trying to add. You should first consult the card details and see if it allows Apple Pay and whether it needs extra verification before it can be added through Apple.

For example, i used to have a Revolut under 18 card, and when i tried to add it to Apple Pay it went through but couldn’t add with a notice of: couldn’t add card. Contact card manufacturer.

Turns out it was a setting in the revolut app that prevented me from doing so until i turned it on as allowed methods of payment.
