Apple Pay is still using my old debit card details.

My debit card expired and I have a new one. I checked online what to do about my Apple Pay and it said that Apple Pay would automatically change the debit card details. Apple Pay has continued to work but it still has the old debit card details, how do I get it to show the new card number?

Mac mini, macOS 14.5

The virtual card in Apple Wallet never has the same number as the physical card. That is part of the security of Apple Pay. The physical card uses what is referred to as the PAN (Primary Account Number) and your Apple Pay card in the Wallet app uses a DPAN (Device Primary Account Number). Those two number are never the same. Typically they have different expiration dates as well.

Your bank will update the virtual card in the Wallet app when it’s time to be updated.
