Apple Pay reverts to old card info

I moved a year and a half ago. Updated my Apple Pay with my new credit card information and new address and it’s been fine. Today I find it reverted to my old credit card and old billing address. I only found out because some thing I had on backorder was canceled due to a declined payment.

If the billing address reverts back to your previous address then the issue is probably related to the Contacts app. There is an old thread that I started about 6 or 7 years ago about the same issue which plagued many people. We had recently moved to a new address and the billing address in Apple Pay constantly reverted back to our previous address despite being changed multiple times.

My solution at that time was to get my bank, it was my debit card from them with the problem, to issue me a new card with a different account number. When that card was activated and entered into Apple Pay the correct address, which my bank already had, was picked up and retained. However someone else came upon the Contacts app as the problem. So delete your Contact, the “Me” one, and then create a new one with all your current, correct info, and set it as your “Me” card. Apple Pay should then pick that up for your billing address. This is apparently some kind of corruption with the Contacts data base that just hangs onto your old address for dear life. My way, getting a new card with a new account number, did work but it is a drastic move to make. Try the contact card change first.

If the issue is specifically the address reverting to your old address then it could still be your contact card. If you search for that old thread you’ll see that all of us had the correct address in our contact cards. But deleting that card and recreating it with the same information solved the problem. But for me this was specific to a card I had included in Apple Pay. Billing info there is separate from your Apple ID.

Each card also has an address associated with the account. Please follow this path;

iPhone > Settings > Apple ID (Your Name at top of screen) > Payment & Shipping > tap card to edit > tap Billing address > tap edit (upper right corner of screen) edit necessary changes

iPhone > Settings > Apple ID (Your Name at top of screen) > Payment & Shipping > Shipping Address (edit or delete address

iPhone > Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay > Transaction Defaults (scroll down) > Shipping Address > Edit (upper right corner of screen) > either Enter New Shipping Address, add new address or edit/delete addresses
