Hi HeyhowdyHey!
welcome to the Apple (user-to-user) Community.
Re: "Searching my apps"
Surprised you get to view an app when using a letter that is not the first letter of the app name ?
Generally, you would need to type in the correct name of the app in the search field.
Sorry I don't know of any searh criteria that is used, other than the correct name of the app entered letter by letter.
Seems you would be searching for apps in the App Library.
Maybe your App Library just knows intelligently what you want ?
Apple doers say:
"Note: The apps in App Library are organized in categories intelligently, based on how you use your apps."
Here's how Apple describes the search process:
"To Find and open an app in App Library
- Go to the Home Screen, then swipe left past all your Home Screen pages to get to App Library.
- Tap the search field at the top of the screen, then enter the name of the app you’re looking for. Or scroll up and down to browse the alphabetical list.
- To open an app, tap it.
If a category has a few small app icons, you can tap them to expand the category and see all the apps in it."
Above is from Apple Support's online article: Find your apps in App Library on iPhone - Apple Support
All the best :-)
