iMovie showing External as a camera

I’m having an issue and it started at complete random too. When I try to import anything from my external drive to iMovie which used to show up as a device but now shows up as a camera, it won’t allow me to import anything. It’s worked fine for the past year. I have a MacBook Air 2023 M2. When I go into finder it operates completely fine. When I edit photos and export them with Lightroom there’s no issue whatsoever. The only issue is with iMovie.
