MacBook prompts me for Password instead of Fingerprint

I never set a password for the Mac , only used my finger print to sign on and it is now asking for a password to sign me in .

There HAD to be a password set.


On initial startup, the fingerprint reader will not “activate” until the machine has fully booted-up for the user.
