Notes in dark mode text is white on my Macbook but black on my phone

Repeating this post Notes text is white on my Mac but black (on black in dark mode on iphone XR) I have the same issue now in 2024. There was no answer to this post.

If I use default text on my mac then the colour is fine on both my macbook and iphone but if I change it to white text then it is ok on my macbook but black and invisible on my phone. I have tried several different colours, restarting my device.

Which colour should I choose in dark mode so that the text is black in light mode, light in dark mode and the same on both my macbook and phone?
