I used to have an android phone , but I switched to iphone because I was having some problems. Now, I have a completely new phone and phone number, and the same things are still happening and my phone is being shown as an android to other people.

Your phone is not showing up as an android. Your phone is showing up as sending SMS messages. Have you signed into iMessages yet? Until you do, your phone will send SMS (green) messages:

That has would have nothing to do with your iPhone. She needs to check the contact she has for that number and edit the name so it shows your name instead of just Android.
Its also possible your friend's carrier's caller ID is misidentifying you. In which case it would be something to resolve with their carrier and not your iPhone directly.
What do you mean it's "being shown as an android phone"? In what context? Where are they seeing this? Why is this a problem? What are the problems that you're having that caused you to change not only your phone but your phone number?
I was texting my friend and she said that my texts were being shown as android. The only reason i changed my phone number, though is because there was a deal at the phone store to get a new phone and number for free.
Today messages I’ve sent to a contact are not being received, and most of the previous messages from this contact are gone with the exception of 3 which are appearing as an android message(appearing in green instead of blue).
