Are the messages about updating my credit card for iCloud Photos legitimate?

I keep getting messages that my credit card information needs to be updated and I'm going to run out of storage and I did update my credit card through apple. What's going on? Is this l for my photokeep getting notices that my credit card needs to be updated and my photo storage is very low and I will loss my photos if not updated. Is this ligit? I did update my credit card in apple.
