iPhone 7 is limited to the current iOS 15.8.2

I'm sure you do want it, but you can't have it. Your phone is too old and lacks the hardware required for iOS 16 or iOS 17 or the upcoming iOS 18. If you need a higher level iOS version than your more than 8 year old phone can support, then you need a newer, more modern iPhone.

Sorry but a “7” can only run up to iOS15.

I'm sorry, but the iPhone 7 cannot run iOS 16 or later as the iPhone 7 can only support up to iOS 15 due to its outdated hardware that doesn't meet the minimum requirements for iOS 16 or later. If you want to update to a newer iOS version then you need to get a new iPhone, at least one that meets the minimum requirements.
