How do I adjust volume in my iPhone 13 Pro Max?

There are two volume buttons on the left side of the phone, just below the Mute switch.

Adjusting Volume IN iPhone:

Using an app and/or an external speaker? Increase the volume on it(if an option), if you hear nothing, while the iPhone's volume is up.
