Cannot update Microsoft as it needs a 12 Mac version.

Do not want to buy a new computer! how can I download a compatible version of Microsoft especially powerpoint?

needs 12 or more version.

Microsoft only supports the three most current versions of macOS which at this time is macOS Monterey, Ventura, and Sonoma (soon to be Ventura, Sonoma, Sequoia in a few months). If you have an M365 subscription, then I believe you may be able to download & install an older version of Office onto some older versions of macOS, but I really don't know the details so you would need to contact Microsoft for details on their products (I just saw an option in our M365 subscription).


If you have an existing MS Office installation, then it will keep working although it may no longer be able to access any online resources. However, if you receive any documents which utilized newer features of Office, then you won't be able to access those documents.


Otherwise you will need to utilize third party software such as Apple's own suite of Office like apps (Pages, Numbers, Keynote....assuming you had previously installed them from the App Store while the OS & apps were still supported by Apple), or by using the third party free & open source office suite LibreOffice.
