How can I update my iMac to allow Microsoft Upgrades?

I have an older iMac (27 inch late 2015), with a 3.2 quad-core Intel i5 with 8 Gb memory, running macOS Monterey Version 12.7.6.- the system tells me that this is up-to-date

However, my Microsoft auto-update notice indicates that I need to upgrade to MacOS 13.0 or later for Excel, One Note, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.

I appreciate any advice on what needs to occur.

macOS 12 Monterey is the highest that a Late 2015 27" iMac can run.

If you need to run a later macOS version, then you need a newer or new Mac.

Microsoft Support – Upgrade macOS to continue receiving Microsoft 365 and Office for Mac updates

"If you’re on an unsupported version of macOS, your Office apps will still work but you would no longer receive any updates including security updates. For example, if you’re on macOS Monterey, but later you don’t update your macOS to a supported version when macOS Monterey is no longer supported, you won’t receive any updates of any kind."

Note that Monterey is good enough to run current versions of LibreOffice – which I believe will run even on Catalina.
