Apple GymKit Connect and Peloton + Bike - intermittent disconnect.
in the past month or so i've seen an issue with Apple GymKit and the Peloton + bike.
The normal expected results are you start a workout, the bike prompts you to bring your watch near and then once it senses the watch it asks you to confirm on the watch screen, you hit confirm and you start the workout.... the watch displays a cycle workout that is paused and once the intro has finished on screen the workout starts and you get live heart rate data etc.
What is happening now:
you start a workout, the bike prompts you to bring your watch near and then once it senses the watch it asks you to confirm on the watch screen, you hit confirm and you start the workout.... the watch displays a cycle workout that is paused and as soon as the intro finishes the watch and bike disconnect and you lose the Gymkit functionality.
Things i've tried:
Clearing the bike cache as per the peloton support article - result = 1 day of no issues then fault returns following day
the "static" reboot procedure on the bike - result = as above
unpairing the watch from the bike and resetting health app permissions and re-pairing = as above
The only solution that works every time is if i hard reboot my watch (hold the crown dial and button together till the screen goes blank and then apple logo appears) and i have to do this before i work out.
Can someone let me know if this is a bug with the watch OS or if this is a peloton issue? I really want to have this resolved because as a frequent user of the bike, this is super frustrating.
