Apple Watch SE3 Outdoor Run goal stuck at 3000m

Hi,

I have a problem with workouts on Apple Watch SE3 running Watch OS 26.2 (23S303)

When I go to start a Workout, I select Outdoor Run, then click the clock symbol top right.

The next screen (Goals And Targets) displays a workout with a distance goal of 3000m as the first item in Your Workouts.

I want to either change this to 5km, or (better) delete it altogether. Neither option works.

If I change it, by clicking on the pen symbol, I get the following screen:

I change the units to km, then roll the crown around until it says 5km:

And when I press Done, it returns to the Targets and Goals screen, and instantly resets it to 3000m.

If I try to delete the workout, nothing happens.

This 3000m workout remains at the top of the Targets and Goals screen on my watch no matter what I do.

I have set up two new distance goals in Goals on my paired phone, which have synced to the watch, but what is this 3000m run, how do I get rid of it? Apple Support are stumped.

I can’t find this workout in my fitness app however. It has stumped support (a long phone call with them!) and they have suggested repairing the Apple Watch, firstly restoring from a backup. If this doesn’t work I’ve been advised to repair again, and this time set up from new.

The theory is it’s getting this workout from an old watch or from some other previous session which isn’t showing in the paired iPhone.

Yes, it’s not possible to swipe to the left on this one, or amend or delete it . This workout appears in ‘Your Workouts’ and is the top option in the very first screen you get to after selecting outdoor run, then clicking on the stopwatch/clock icon top right.

I’m not talking about my goals which are in the yellow goals section further down that screen (I can delete them no problem)

Right. Support have now decided it’s my work profiles and device management that is causing this. I had no problem with this on my previous Apple Watch (original SE) and I haven’t changed my phone (although I have upgraded to iOS 26). Does this sound like a fob off to you? (It does to me and I’m considering taking the watch back for a refund.)
