Sonoma 14.6 update not working well with Macbook M1 Pro

14.6.1 (23g93) S L O W !

• Very slow login after lock screen
• slow mail main message screen loading
• very very slow file/image preview. Also fails completely. I have to resize previwe pain for it to render

I have the same issue, it boots up so much slower getting stuck sometimes

I had the same slow issue on M1 Macbook Air, worked fine before 14.6. Now updated to 14.6.1 and I think its still the exact same issue

Mine worked for a while. Then search in Mail failed.

I restarted and now no Spotlight or Mail search.

Clicking the magnifying glass in the Menu Bar also is broken.

Come on Apple, you can do better than this!

I'm also with same problem. I'm using Mac Mini M2, and since I updated my software yesterday to macOS 14.6.1 my magic keyboard is not responding the same. Every key I press took about 1 sec to be shown in the screen. My stats seems to be normal, maybe the ram memory is a bit higher than usual but does not explain it at all.

I found a solution on Reddit.

Click and hold the magnifying glass in the Menu Bar for a few seconds.

Viola.

Mail search is also fixed.

I am having the same problem. I have contacted with apple , did everything they asked me to and still the same. It is slowing when scrolling up and down

Similar issue/ followed these:

did disk utility cleaning

reinstalled OS

started in Safe mode

removed login applications

restarted in normal mode

What issue did this fix for you?

My issue has to do with my Macbook being hella slow now when I open it up and unlock

maxfor definitely forget the keyboard and reconnect it helped, but unfortunately the problem persists (it is better, but still happens). Actually, I realized that all my mac is slower. I've never had any performance issues with my mac until this version, and the keys of the keyboard are following this slowness.
