Not sure how that would happen, unless someone manually changed that.

If you got the Apple TV box from a previous user, then you are advised to reset it first, then re-configure from scratch with your own settings.

For the Apple TV box (A1625 or later):

To solve it, find the Settings app (gray tile with gears/sprockets icon) on the Home Screen.

On the Settings page, choose the first option from the top (General). On the General page, choose the 8th option from the top (Apple TV Languages). The image to the left would show a world symbol. Click Select to show the Apple TV Languages page. If the previous language isn’t deleted from the short list, then it would be selectable right there. Else choose the last option to add a new language. Click Select to show the list of languages on a new page. On this Add Language page, each language would be listed in the current language and the native language. Scroll down to find your interface language of choice. Select it to change into that.

For the Apple TV app on third party devices:

To solve it, find the Settings in the side bar. It would have the gears/sprockets icon next to it: ⚙ .

On the Settings page, choose the third option from the top. The image to the left would show a flag, with a world symbol. Click Select to show the list of languages on a new page. Each language would be listed in the current language and the native language. Scroll down to find your interface language of choice. Select it to change into that.
