Mail Merge using Pages and Numbers to create Name Tags with Photos

I am trying to create name tags for a class reunion. I will have about 150 name tags and I want to include a thumbnail photo of each person from our yearbook. I am having 2 issues which are blocking me and preventing me from moving forward:

  1. After I set up Avery Template it will read from the Numbers but only prints 1 name per page.
  2. I am not able to get the photo to print. I have tried linking a local path and file name to the JPEG and I have also tried linking to a location on my Google Drive where I have made the JPEGs shareable.

Note: I can get part way there with at Google Docs/Sheets solution but it requires paying for an extension to do a full mail merge. I have searched the web and YouTube for examples and instructions but nothing that has worked for me. Is this possible with Pages and Numbers?

I didn't see any sign that Pages works with Avery templates, or any kind of address label template. I couldn't get it to insert merge fields into a table, either. I did find a workaround that might help.

As an experiment, I made a table with six columns, meant to alternate between pictures and text. Copying and pasting pictures disrupted the table layout, but dragging and dropping them from a folder made them fit, though they landed in the center of each cell and wouldn't move. I exported them from Photos to a folder at the small size, 240 x 320 pixels, though I don't know if that makes a difference. Then I was able to enter text in the other columns. The picture should make more sense.

You can hide the gridlines, and remove the alternating row color, but I didn't see a way to insert any space between the rows - which would be nice for cutting out the individual cards. Anyway, the pictures printed. This photo turned out blue because the lighting was a bit dim.

If you have your attendees' information in a spreadsheet, you can probably copy and paste it into a table like this one, though I expect it will take some fiddling.
