want to connect thunderbolt A1407
to MacBook Air M3.
both have MagSafe power connecters, but different versions I think.

That wouldn't do it. The M3 MacBook Air uses MagSafe 3.
There are some third-party devices that claim to go from MagSafe 1 or 2 to USB-C, but given that the M3 MacBook Air has only two USB-C ports, it would make more sense to use the charger and MagSafe 3 cable that came with it.
Thank you for your reply. I saw this but it doesn't seem to be available through apple. probably have to look at 3rd party vendors.
