Every time I open FCPX I have to resize the windows on the bottom half of the screen. Is there any way to teach FCP to remember my settings ?
Only a small matter but annoying. My problem also exists in Mail windows too.

Try turning OFF "Close windows when quitting an application"
(I am on Sonoma, and the system preferences (now called "settings") are reorganized; I believe in Monterrey this in under General, but should be easy to find.

Can you post a before and after screenshot? What do you mean by “on the bottom half of the screen”?
You may try fox_m’s suggestion and let us know how that goes, but I would not expect it to apply to FCP, since it autosaves, anyway.
Thanks Luis.The 3 windows at the bottom aren't remembered so the length of the timeline varies. LH picture is how it is when opened and the RH is how I set it to be. That is not remembered when next opened. I want the index window larger and the effects window smaller.
Perhaps I should mention I am on the latest Monterey with FCP 10.6.8. It seems I can't update to any later version.

An aside to this - I have always spent much time resizing many Finder windows on various Macs for years. Have they ever fixed that or is there something I don't know ?
