AirPods connecting to iPhone but no sound

AirPods connect to iPhone on Bluetooth and MacBook. No sound via iPhone but perfect via MacBook. This is a new issue and no previous issues with these pods. I have restarted iPhone, reset pods, reconnected (all twice) but this hasn’t made a difference. Ideas??

How can I fix the "connecting failed" error with AirPods on iPhone 15 Pro? Hi all, So the 2nd issue I'm having with my brand new iPhone 15 Pro is that I can't connect my AirPods to the iPhone. I've watched 100000 Youtube videos and Googled this issue. I open the Pods, shows on the iPhone, says connecting, but then does the whole "connecting failed" BUT if I try set these pods up on a iPhone 12 Mini and Samsung A52 or A53 - it works fine. Thoughts?
