Why are my text messages taking so long to deliver?

So for the past four days, I have been trying to send texts, and it can take them almost 30 minutes to just say “delivered” which is really bad as one of the texts I was dealing with was an emergency and I had full wifi and full cell service, and yet the text wouldn’t say delivered until 20 mins after I hit send. I have had this issue happen multiple times, I have tried resetting my phone, turning on and off my wifi and cell signal, but nothing works.

Are these SMS (green) messages? Or iMessages (blue)? It sounds as if they are iMessages, as you mentioned seeing the "Delivered" status.

A couple of things to try. First, make sure your phone is updated to the latest version of iOS, which is 17.6. Then, go to Settings>General>Transfer or Reset iPhone>Reset>Reset Network Settings. The only thing that will be deleted is saved WiFi passwords.

There could be a multiple reasons from network traffic to problems at the ISP to natural disasters. It's like when you are on the phone call and it is dropped when on the cell network.
