Does KODAK SLIDE N SCAN Digital Film Scanner work with OS 11

Looking at the user guide, it appears like it should work. It appears to work like an external storage device, so should appear in Finder and even in the Photos App and the scans it saves onto the SD card should be visible in either location.

Alternatively, it is also meant as a stand alone device, so you scan your film sections onto an SD card, and you can then read that SD card in a card reader connected to your computer.

Have you purchased the Kodak slide scanner yet? If you already have it just connect it and give it a try.

If you haven't purchased it I strongly suggest you consider a flatbed scanner that does transparencies. They have them that can scan multiple slides at a time and save them to separate files.

I purchased a slide scanner when I first retired to scan my many slides. But when I finished I have an expensive door stop. The flatbed transparency scanners are much quicker that doing single slides in a slide scanner and can be used for photos, documents, etc.

Just some food for thought.

I had a Canon CanoScan V8800 scanner which served me very well for years. However, Canon seems to have gotten out of the consumer flatbed transparency scanner business.

Epson makes on that seems good but somewhat expensive, $350 - the Epson Perfection V600 Photo. It's #3 in the The best film scanners in 2024. But beware of these reviews. They are not always non-bias.

I have an Epson printer/scanner and its scans are very good.

With the introduction of digital cameras the call for transparency scanners has dried up.

I have a KODAK SLIDE N SCAN that I bought about a year ago, but I shifted gears and haven't used it much. It worked well for the several slides I scanned-- I need to get back to it. I, too, had an earlier slide scanner, and it was way too much work. So for most of my slides I sent them off to pros. What I have left, I think, are smaller batches, and I don't want to pay for these at what was then about $1/slide. Probably more, now...
