WhatsApp issue on Apple CarPlay

Since yesterday I cannot send a WhatsApp message via CarPlay. Voice response says ‘contact does not appear to have WhatsApp messaging enabled’. The contact does have WhatsApp messaging enabled. This is happening for all my contacts. Have checked I have latest version of WhatsApp and have done a software update of phone. Only an issue with CarPlay. Why?

I backed up WhatsApp in WhatsApp settings then deleted the app. I reinstalled app, then reconnected to CarPlay and was able to send messages from car. Tried phoning and it said I had to give WhatsApp access to my microphone. Got someone to phone me on WhatsApp whilst car stationary and on phone was able to select to allow call with access to microphone. Think all is well now
