iPhone Maps Documents & Data

My phone is currently holding on to almost 10GB of Documents & Data files in the Maps app. I never use the Maps app. What is this 10GB of files about? It. Looks like this has been a problem for a while. Apple, are you planning on fixing this apparently widespread problem???

This is a user-to-user forum, not a place to ask Apple anything. It’s not a problem, its a feature so when you DO use Apple Maps it may already have the map you need based on your location and not have to download it. It is also used by Siri to tell you how long it will take to reach a destination in a calendar event.

Go to Settings/Maps and turn off Automatic Updates, and turn on Optimize Storage.
