WhatsApp microphone option missing

Basically all of a sudden whatsapp has been saying that it doesn’t have permission to access the microphone and that I need to go into settings so I followed all the steps except that the option for microphone wasn’t there. I’ve already searched on Google what to do and I also tried the other way where you go on your privacy and then go onto restrictions, et cetera, but that doesn’t work either. I even tried uninstalling and installing and hasn’t worked as well so right now I don’t know what I do because this is the only app that I can contact my family live abroad. I’ve even tried going through tutorials and nothing has worked so I’m just wondering if there’s anything else I can try or do. I even tried resetting my phone that did not work either.
