Diagonal white lines appear on Macbook M2 Air Screen. What could be the cause?

I've been using this device for about a year now. FYI, It has been through a few drops and even some water splashes on the keyboard surface. But this issue appeared out of the blue. What could be the problem? If I press into the screen gently, the pattern doesn't change which makes me belive its not a problem with the LCD display. Could the connector to the display be the reason?

Also, will this be covered under Apple Care+ ?

MacBook Air, macOS 14.0

I have seen that when liquid gets inside the glass of the laptop's Display. It will involve needing to have the Display Assembly replaced (along with the Lid Angle Sensor since it is unfortunately paired to the Display).

If you have AC+ coverage, then you will only be paying $99US to have the Display Assembly replaced. However, if any other component within the base of the laptop also shows any signs of liquid damage, then the repair cost will increase by another $299US for a total of $398US (at least this is the cost for a 13" MBPro).
