Remote control app in phone or additional device for iPad Pro to primarily use for volume & mute on iPad when not within arm’s reach

I’m just curious if there is any way to control the iPad volume without having to physically touch the iPad Pro. If a person has disabilities it’s very understandable that this could be a bit of a challenge despite it seeming like a simple thing to do.

I seem to recall that the original iPad 1 actually DID have a compatible remote that came with it or was an accessory that could be purchased.


I understand that the iPad does not have an infrared eye or work on any of that sort of technology. It does however work with WiFi & Bluetooth & part of a network of devices. So I don’t think it’s an absurd question to ask under the mobility challenged circumstances.

No, iPads never came with a remote. The Apple TV remote used to work with Macs, but even that's been years.

There seem to be lots of BT remotes out there that say they work with iPads. For example:
