Intermittent Disconnection of USB 2.0 Devices with Anker 553 USB-C Hub (A8380)

Hello everyone,

I'm having an issue with my Anker 553 USB-C Hub (A8380) when it's connected to my MacBook Pro (M3) running macOS 14.6. The problem is that my USB 2.0 devices, specifically my mouse and keyboard, keep disconnecting after some time of use.

Here's my setup:

• Anker 553 USB-C Hub (A8380)
• Ethernet cable connected to the hub
• USB 2.0 keyboard and mouse connected to the hub
• Occasionally, I use a USB 3.0 stick, which works normally even when the mouse and keyboard get disconnected
• My USB-C monitor with the keyboard plugged in also works normally

The issue is only with the USB 2.0 devices. The Ethernet connection and USB 3.0 devices work perfectly fine and remain connected without any problems.

To temporarily fix the issue, I have to:

• Replug the USB 2.0 devices into the hub
• Change the ports on the MacBook Pro or the Anker Hub
• Sometimes, waiting for a while before replugging helps

Despite these steps, the disconnections keep happening, making it really frustrating to use USB 2.0 devices reliably. I also tried resetting the PRAM/NVRAM on my MacBook Pro, but that didn't solve the problem either.

I'm attaching a picture of System Information showing the USB device tree for reference.

• Second bus is the USB C hub
• Third bus is the USB C monitor with plugged in keyboard

Has anyone else experienced similar issues with USB 2.0 devices disconnecting on this hub or other USB-C hubs? Any suggestions on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated!
