New iPhone 15 new Apple Watch 9, old Mac Mini. Can't get the Mac and iPhone to sync messages. Have to delete all these 2024 election messages TWICE!

Make sure that in your Mac FaceTime app settings your number it’s set it up there if not then in iPhone settings/ cellular/ call on other devices/tour Mac should be there just enable it and you can see a notification in your Mac that your phone number it’s registered in FaceTime settings
You’r welcome , that’s because FaceTime and iMessage using the same phone number if the phone number it’s registered on FaceTime settings then in message app settings it will be registered automatically, glad you can solved this inconvenience
Of course, that's the first thing I checked. Never thought that FaceTime would make a difference. I use it once about every two months.
Are all three devices logged into the same Apple ID? That's the most important thing to check. Then, follow these instructions:

FaceTime settings are not particularly relevant to this issue.
Never thought that FaceTime would be involved. Everything syncing now.
