how do i remotely remove my apple id from a lost device?

i lost one of my iphone 11’s during a taxi ride in philippines. after i lost it, i used another phone of my one to try enabling lost mode on it using find my iphone. now that i’m back from vacation, i’ve decided to go through with completely removing that phone from my apple account in order to preserve my security and privacy. but i’m not very sure how. i tried going to settings > my apple id > scrolled down to the devices my account is on > tapped my missing phone and pressed “remove from account”. after that, my missing phone no longer shows up and i thought that was it, but i’m still worried and that’s why i’m seeking help. the missing phone (still in lost mode and has a red lock icon) still shows up in find my iphone, and i have the options “erase this device” or “remove this device”. i chose erase—as directed by customer support whom i called earlier. so am i done? is there anything else i need to do to remove my apple id account from that phone? or have i already succeeded?

iPhone 12, iOS 16

Read this support article about what to do if a iPhone or iPad is lost or stolen -->

If your iPhone or iPad is lost or stolen - Apple Support

- The Find My service described in the article is the only recovery feature Apple offers. It must be set up before the device is lost.

- Note that if you remotely erase your device as instructed in this article, if you subsequently remove it from your account as in this article --> Check your Apple ID device list to find where you're signed in - Apple Support , then according to this article --> How to remove Activation Lock - Apple Support you remove activation lock from the device. Do not remove it from your account. If you do then a finder or thief will have an unlocked device that can be used by another person. Setting it to remotely erase (if it can) should be enough to secure your data.
