Apple TV running trailers but not playing shows / films

Hi - I can open Apple TV on my LG TV & it plays trailers fine but does not allow me to play the shows or films.

Subscription is paid, rest of my services work fine, and all other apps run well. but it AppleTV simply doesn’t work properly. Can even scroll the time on the progress bar, skip the preview and the "previously on," but the content itself simply will not play.

Also cannot remove app from the TV to reinstall.

All solution suggestions welcome.
