Text Message Forwarding not showing up in settings

Important in cases when the Text Message Forwarding is not showing up in your iPhones settings:

in iPhones' Settings/ Messages/ Send & Receive

make sure you have your actual phone number selected under " You can receive iMessages to and reply to and reply from", not an email or iCloud account address.

In addition you may need to restart your devices and wait few minutes for this settings to take effect and be able to use the text messages forwarding features between your Apple devices.

Another case in which Text Message Forwarding might not show up is if you have enabled iCloud Messages. But in that case, iCloud Messages basically includes the functionality that the “missing” control provides.

Do your Part: Inform Apple of this fix. Apple barely reads these forums as it is on their own time. So, to get the word out to them, report it to them. Apple won't get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is going on, and what needs to be fixed.
