YouTube App captions not turning on automatically on Apple TV

I saw a thread from several months ago this year that got closed.

It’s just exactly as the title says, but for more context: I have the Closed Captions and SDH on in Settings > Accessibility > Subtitles and Captioning. And in my Google/YouTube account, I have the “Always use subtitles”, including the auto-generated ones.

It STILL does not stick, and it’s extremely annoying to have to constantly turn it back on every single time on every single video.
