Want to deregister imessage
I no longer have the iphone but can't deregister my apple account and support just takes me round in circles. Given this I'll never buy another apple device. Surely someone could do this in support ?

You can't de-regestier your Apple account. You can de-register your phone number from the iMessage service so Apple devices stop sending iMessages to it and you can receive SMS messages on your new non-Apple device.
Only you can do this. Nobody else can do it for you.
